Environmental considerations of resin

We’re more conscious with our choices that impact the environment so let’s delve into why resin still remains a fantastic choice.

One of the notable environmental benefits of resin surfaces is their ability to reduce water runoff. Resin driveways provide permeability, allowing water to penetrate the surface and significantly decreasing surface runoff. This characteristic plays a crucial role in preventing water-logging and supports groundwater recharge, contributing to the overall health of ecosystems. The reduction of water runoff is particularly significant in areas where flooding may be of concern as it helps to reduce the potential of it. It is a go-to for many house builders and developments as it provides a uniformed and helpful look but also reduces the build up of water especially in boggy areas.

Resin driveways, paths and patios are a common choice because of their durability. When we invest in our homes, especially on the larger jobs such as our gardens, driveways and parking areas, we know these are costly pieces that provide the best return on investment. When you see and drive onto your property each day, you want to know that the money spent will last you a long time.

Resin will do just that, it provides a durable surface that can stand regular use and will rise to any environmental weather challenge! For our extra quality assurance, we use a higher strength resin than the standard 6.5kg mix. We only use UV stable resin so that it protects the aggregate from discolouration with a sand and glass mix to ensure a strong and anti-slip finish.

Talk about making a product that’s set to last! You’ll be reassured that your car, visitors and your entrances will be a safe place to move on anytime of the year and won’t require harsh salts or grit in order to ensure safety.
